What this data can and can't tell you.

Every series above has a named public source and shows its down years. If a chart only ever goes up, ask what was left out.

Export figures measure finished whisky leaving the country. They are context for the industry — not a price index for any cask.

No public index exists for whisky casks. Anyone quoting one is usually quoting rare bottles at auction, which is a different market with different economics.
